0
0
IEC 62532:2011+A1:2016 specifies the safety requirements for fluorescent induction lamps for general lighting purposes. It also specifies the method a manufacturer should use to show compliance with the requirements of this standard on the basis of whole production appraisal in association with his test records on finished products. This method can also be applied for certification purposes. Details of a batch test procedure, which can be used to make limited assessment of batches, are also given in this standard. This consolidated version consists of the first edition (2011) and its amendment 1 (2016). Therefore, no need to order amendment in addition to this publication.

IEC 62532 Amd.1 Ed. 1.0 b:2016 : Amendment 1 - Fluorescent induction lamps - Safety specifications

IEC 62877-1 Ed. 1.0 b:2016 : Electrolyte and water for vented lead acid accumulators - Part 1: requirements for electrolyte

0
0
IEC 62877-1:2016 applies to electrolyte and their components used for filling vented lead-acid batteries, for example dry charged cells or batteries, and for electrolyte replacement or electrolyte density adjustment of batteries in operation. This international standard defines the composition, purity and properties of electrolyte to be applied where specific instructions from the battery manufacturer are not available.

IEC 62877-2 Ed. 1.0 b:2016 : Electrolyte and water for vented lead acid accumulators - Part 2: Requirements for water

0
0
IEC 62877-2:2016 applies to water for use with vented lead-acid cells and batteries, i.e. water for preparation of electrolyte and for topping up cells or batteries. The purity of refilling water has to meet higher requirements compared to filling electrolyte, because the impurities in the operating electrolyte will be gradually increased by regular addition of water. This international standard lays down requirements of the composition, purity and properties of water in the absence of specific recommendations from the manufacturer.

Keywords: fibre optic connectors, optical system maintenance and operation

IEC/TR 62874 Ed. 1.0 b:2015 : Guidance on the interpretation of carbon dioxide and 2-furfuraldehyde as markers of paper thermal degradation in insulating mineral oil

0
0
IEC TR 62874:2015 is a Technical Report which provides guidance for the estimation of consumed thermal life of transformers' cellulosic insulators, through the analysis of some compound dissolved in the insulating mineral oil. A comparison between analytical results of 2-furfural (2-FAL) and carbon oxides and their correspondent typical values estimated for different families of equipment gives information on the estimated thermal degradation of papers.

IEC/TS 62941 Ed. 1.0 en:2016 : Terrestrial photovoltaic (PV) modules - Guideline for increased confidence in PV module design qualification and type approval

0
0
IEC TS 62941:2016(E) provides more confidence in the ongoing consistency of performance and reliability of certified PV modules. The requirements of this technical specification are defined with the assumption that the quality management system of the organization has already fulfilled the requirements of a quality management system. By maintaining a manufacturing system in accordance with this guideline, PV modules are expected to maintain their performance as determined from the test sequences in IEC 61215, IEC 61646, or IEC 62108. This technical specification is applicable to all PV modules independent of design and technology i.e. flat panel, concentrator photovoltaic (CPV). This technical specification lays out best practices for product design, manufacturing processes, and selection and control of materials used in the manufacture of PV modules that have met the requirements of IEC 61215, IEC 61646, or IEC 62108.

IEEE 277-1983 : IEEE Recommended Practice for Cement Plant Power Distribution

0
0
Revision Standard - Inactive - Withdrawn. The continuing expansion and modernization program in the cement industry has placed an increasing importance on the current plant power distribution system. Increasing plant capacity accompanied by larger kilns, grinding mills, crushers, and the increasing use of automatic controls has placed greater stress on the adequacy and reliability of the distribution system. Safety, capacity, reliability, and low maintenance - all at a reasonable cost - are the requirements of the cement plant power distribution system.

IEEE P2400/D2, January 2016 - DRAFT : IEEE Draft Standard of Wind Turbine Aero Acoustic Noise Measurement Techniques

0
0
New IEEE Standard - Unapproved Draft. The wind turbine in a wind farm can produce Amplitude Modulation Noise (AMN) is known to be caused by rotating airfoil self-noise particularly trailing edge scattering noise and Doppler effect due to blade motion relative to observer, it is also recognized as Swish sound. Envelop of the acoustic wave appeared to be blade passing frequency; therefore it gives people impression that it is Low Frequency with blade passing frequency noise. Meanwhile, the sound pressure pulsation due to blade aerodynamic loading fluctuation and blade tower interaction characterized as Low Frequency Noise (LFN) including infrasound were observed from indoor measurement near wind turbine in operation. The AMN and LFN are both identified as wind turbine aero acoustic noise that have been complained to be the most annoying to residents near wind farm, such as sleep disturbance, nausea, giddiness and etc. The issue becomes more concerned to public as more wind farm projects built with modern powerful wind turbine deploying larger and longer blade. However, the current IEC 61400-11 noise measurement standard did not address this issue, especially in far field indoor condition. To address this issue, IEEE has started a standard development project P2400 in Oct.2013. This standard establishes standard measurement techniques and methods of analysis to quantify wind turbine and wind farm aero acoustic noise. It can be used to understand wind turbine aero acoustic noise so called low frequency/infrasound and amplitude modulation noise and potential impacts on surrounding communities. This document provides the standard measurement techniques for wind turbine aero acoustic noise including instrumentation selection, measurement setup near field, far-field outdoor and indoor, post-data processing and noise source data analysis. IEC 61400-11 has provided overall wind turbine noise measurement standard, while this document focuses more aero acoustic noise of wind turbine and the difference from IEC 61400-11 to avoid the overlap. It is advised that use of this document also with familiarity of ANSI S1.1-1994 (R2004) Acoustical Terminology.

The heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration industry shows a trend toward increased adoption of condensing boilers in heating systems, butthe full impact on design and construction is complex. In design the selection of the boilers, heating coils, and operating temperatures play equallyimportant roles in the composition of an efficient system. The failure to optimize design for a system as a whole can lead to wasted energy and money. Thispaper investigates the effect on overall system performance and construction cost of various heating system metrics with regards to condensing and noncondensingboilers.
